The Sunbury Municipal Authority Board voted to seek approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to discontinue drinking water fluoridation treatment at its water treatment plant. An application will be submitted requesting that the public water supply permit be amended to remove fluoridation from the operating permit. The transition from a fluoridated to a non-fluoridated system will occur on or about September 30, 2026.
